Graduate Business Association

JC Obande, Vice President Professional Development

Professional development is an important aspect of our investment in graduate school. Professional development is thus a key focus for the continued growth of the Graduate Business Association and its impact on Georgia State University's MBA and MS students this year.

As Vice President of Professional Development, I will be working hard to strengthen the connection between community and business leaders and the MBA and MS students here at Georgia State University. I will be working with members of the executive board to build networking committees for the various concentrations of MBA and MS students. I will also be working with the Robinson Career Management Center to promote career-related workshops and events. Finally, I will be organizing guest speaker events.

I received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree in Civil Engineering with an additional major in Business Administration from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI. I practiced as a structural engineer in the Atlanta area before pursuing graduate studies full time. I am currently pursuing both an MBA and a JD degree with the ultimate goal of practicing intellectual property law. I hope to use my future success to play a role in the growth of developing countries.
