The next term for President begins this May and we are now seeking applications for the 2005-06 role. Included in the benefits package are tuition waivers for both semesters and a stipend (you can decline this if you are a part-time student) and your own office on the 6th floor of the RCB.
Intangible benefits include the opportunity to build upon the efforts of Ron, Gerard, Ritch, Keith and Reid and make your mark on not only the GBA but also the Robinson College of Business for years to come. Other intangibles include improving your leadership skills, making a LOT of contacts, invitations to many private events and the opportunity to set your vision and strategy for the organization.
Intangibles included in the package not seen on the website are meeting people such as Colin Powell, having personal sit-down conversations with executives such as Rick Lenny (CEO of Hershey's), and courting executives (e.g., Herb Baum (CEO of Dial), Ken Lewis (CEO of Bank of America), Michael Eskew (CEO of UPS)) to get involved with the organization.
Responsibilities include organizing events, marketing events and strategic planning, budget responsibility and developing and maintaining corporate relationships both internally and externally. More important responsibilities are to recruit, lead and motivate a board and the committees that are involved with board positions. For additional responsibilities, please read the Articles of Incorporation in the About Us section of the website.
If you are up to the task, please send an email to gba@gsu.edu including your resume and statement of interest detailing why you want to be the next President of the Graduate Business Association at the Robinson College of Business.
